State Rep. Brian BeGole, of Antrim Township, recently participated in the annual Shiawassee County Farm Bureau Legislative Breakfast, engaging with over 75 attendees, including local officials and staff from state and federal offices. During the event, BeGole expressed his gratitude, stating, "I was incredibly honored to attend and speak at this event."

Addressing the pressing issues affecting the agriculture industry in Lansing, BeGole emphasized the importance of engaging with farmers and ranchers to understand their concerns. He highlighted the significant role played by individuals in the agriculture sector in sustaining families, communities, and the economy, pledging to advocate for their interests in the Legislature. BeGole stated, "There are many issues in Lansing impacting livelihoods within our vital agriculture industry... I will continue fighting for them in the Legislature."

BeGole delved into specific legislative priorities, discussing the need for updates to Michigan’s cottage food law and raising awareness about a proposed change in the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development budget. This change would transition conservation district Michigan Agricultural Environmental Assurance Program technicians from local to state employees, a shift with potentially significant implications for local farmers.

Representing various Shiawassee County communities within the 71st House District, BeGole's engagement at the event underscored his commitment to advocating for the interests and concerns of individuals within the agriculture industry.
